Artist's Description
What once was Main Street in Silver City, New Mexico, after the flood of 1895 sent a wall of water rushing through the town cutting a 35 ft. deep canal down the street, now is a river walk park called Big Ditch. The yearly monsoon season can turn this usual quiet creek at the bottom of Big Ditch into an amazing raging torrent of water. This is an abstract view of the a stairway leading down into Big Ditch.

About Vicki Pelham
Welcome to my gallery! I want to thank you for joining me on my journey as an Independent Artist living in Southwest New Mexico, USA. Inspiration surrounds us everywhere we turn, if you choose to see it. From architecture to amazing landscapes, small colorful vignettes of nature and creatures of all sizes. Having grown up in the world of film and the fine art of photography, I had an appreciation at a young age for the art form. My first camera was a Leica M3 and I now shoot with a Pentax K1. It was much later in life that I developed my own expression and passion for photography,...

Vicki, this is a very beautiful shot. I am so enjoying looking through your galleries. It's very clear that you have a gorgeous sense of composition, color, lighting...everything. I really appreciate one who sees the beautiful design inherent, especially in nature, but really in all that we are surrounded by everywhere...and who can capture and reveal that beauty to all of us through their eyes and awareness. To me this reflects a being that is in tune with the connectedness of all of life. Thank you! v/f
